On 21 March 2023, the Ministry of Health Tanzania declared the presence of Marburg virus in Kagera Region - Tanzania. Since the outbreak and subsequent declaration, the Government in collaboration with various stakeholders took stringent measures to curb the disease as well increase public awareness. The efforts were successful in realizing the course.
On 2nd June 2023, the Ministry of Health Tanzania officially DECLARE THE END OF MARBURG VIRUS OUTBREAK in Kagera region.
